Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, 1859 May 22, Scotland - 1930 7 July) - famous Scottish writer, best known as detective Sherlock Holmes author. Signed by more than 50 books, including historical novels, plays, novels and other popular works. His first book written in 1890 published journal. His later works received a very high popularity, but worn out by constant attention, decided to complete the Sherlock Holmes adventures. The last bow ,in which the all-time best-known detective mysteriously killed, printed in 1893. Arthur Conan Doyle, having regard to the wishes of readers, after nine years has written books about Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson prolongations. 1884, married Lucy Hokins, and a year later became a professor of Edinburgh university. He died in 1930 in Essex, England.
